Our Winter Wishes family had an absolutely amazing holiday. A mom who works so hard and her five incredible boys felt deeply loved, supported, and truly blessed by the generosity poured out by this community.

Because of you, their Christmas was full of joy, meaningful gifts, and the kind of relief that comes from knowing people genuinely care. Funds were raised, needs were met, and spirits were lifted in a way that will last far beyond the holidays.

This community should be so proud of itself. You showed up in a big way and made a real difference for an awesome mom and her five boys. This is what heart-led community looks like, and it matters more than you know. THANK YOU 🙏🏻 🎄♥️

Most stores let you purchase physical gift cards right on their website and mail them directly—super easy, and it gives the family the freedom to get exactly what they need.

So much info to share with you!

The family we are supporting for Winter Wishes at The Lake is Cassandra L Moffitt (Cassie) and her five beautiful children - a family rebuilding their lives with more courage than most of us will ever have to muster.

Cassie has lived through things no mother, no woman, no human should ever endure. She survived severe childhood abuse. She survived trafficking. She battled a m**h addiction that nearly took everything from her. She endured horrific violence, and at one point was shot, stabbed, and left for dead on the streets of Spokane. Twice, her children were removed by CPS. Twice, she faced the unimaginable pain of losing the very people she was fighting to protect.

And still… she chose to rise.

With relentless determination, Cassie fought her way into recovery and never looked back. Today, she is 3½ years sober, working every day to create stability, safety, and hope for her children. This is a family on the path forward…a family choosing healing over history, and possibility over pain.

But rebuilding a life after trauma is not simple, and it is not quick. Cassie is doing everything she can… and yet the gap between what she can provide and what her children need remains wide. That’s where Winter Wishes comes in — to surround this family with love, support, and the kind of holiday magic that reminds them they are not alone.

In the coming days and weeks, we will be sharing the specific needs of each child, of Cassie, and of the family as a whole. If you feel called to help lift them up this season - through gifts, essentials, or simple acts of kindness … please stay tuned. Your generosity doesn’t just fill stockings… it fills hearts that have been through more than most of us can imagine.

That will be held @ the Edgewater Studio on Deer Lake and we’ll have holiday music, hot cocoa with all the goodies, apple cider, holiday pictures, and for the whole family. All ages are welcome! 🎄

We are officially accepting nominations for a local family who could use a little extra love and holiday magic this year. 💜✨
Whether you’re nominating your own family or someone close to your heart, we’d be honored to hear their story.
