Dear friends,
Today is Sasha's birthday. He would have been 48 years old today. To many of us it still feels like he's on a trip somewhere and will be back soon. It's hard to believe that he is gone. With his jokes, clever wit, and generosity, Sasha continues to live on in each of us, in his own way. Sasha was a connoisseur of the good things in life and among the many things that he appreciated was a good kotleta! Throughout the years, he dazzled and inspired us with his mastery of the culinary arts at his kotleta parties, where he painstakingly prepared from scratch no less than three different types of kotletas for us to enjoy. It seem fitting then, to remember and commemorate Sasha on Old Russian New Years's Eve (the day he often celebrated his birthday), by inviting you to the first annual Alexander Gellerman Memorial Kotleta Party!
This party will not only be a celebration but also a competition and fund raiser for his granddaughter, Sasha, Jr. We will eat, drink, and crown the best kotleta of 2019. Competitors will bring their kotletas to the party and have them judged by a panel of three judges based on qualities such as taste and appearance. All guests are requested to make a donation to the party and Sasha, Jr's college fund.
In the coming days, we will be sending invitations, competition rules and collecting donations via Eventbrite. If you would like to compete by bringing your kotletas to the party, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you and may the best kotleta win!
