October 1-8
123 West End Avenue Lo

Shine was made possible by the generous support of The Long Branch Arts Council, Morgan Stanley, Subaru, BP Help Center, Moco Arts Council

In celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the Long Branch Free Public Library, Andrea Phox, a renowned local photographer, will photograph 100 women who either live or work in Long Branch. What better way to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Lon

g Branch Public Free Library than to highlight 100 women who represent the fabric of our great city? The exhibit will consist of a clothesline where the 100 black & white printed portraits will be hung by clothespins at the library through the months of November and December of 2016. A brochure will accompany the exhibit so you may learn about each of the 100 women and why Long Branch is so important to them. The purpose of the exhibit is to not only showcase these intriguing women but bring together the community to celebrate the diversity of our amazing friendly city by the sea.

Thank you Karen, the Mix staff for your cost contributions for the kids of LB. Thank you to Karen Hoy for all your hard work and beautiful presentation of the costs for kids.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
"Shine 100 Women of Long Branch" along with those who donated would like to present your school with these coats in Memory of Kevin Hoy who passed in August of 2016 at the age of 57. He became the security officer at Lenna Conrow School after retiring from the Long Branch Fire Dept. after 30 years of service. He often said how lucky he was that he worked two jobs in his life that he loved. I believe it was because they both were helping others and giving to his community. At the end of the summer he would say, I'm ready to get back to "my kids" !
He was a very special man and was loved by all but especially those little ones at his school and his co-workers both in the school and the firehouse.
One cold December day he decided that instead of giving to other charities he wanted to buy coats and take them to school. That particular day there were children who were not dressed properly for the weather and were not allowed to go outside to play and he felt bad for them. We ask that you keep at least three coats in the office for those days that their clothing is not heavy enough and gift the others to those who are in need.
Sincerely, Karen Hoy
