We have received a few emails and messages asking if there are any of the new and improved Geocoinfest 2017 coins for sale. We are happy to admit there are some available. They are $15 each or 4 for $50. Shipping is an additional $7.00 for up to 4 coins. XLE and VIP coins are very limited in quantity. Any questions, please feel free to message us and ask.

If you haven’t read the announcement from earlier today, here is the update on the GCF 2017 coins.

Hello again our fellow GCF Boat Passengers!

As you might remember, last week the 3rd party factory in China that was contracted to mint the GCF Queen Mary sets, notified us that they were shipping to the US before Chinese New Year.

Our team can confirm, the boats have docked on US soil!!!

The sets are expected to ship next week. All packages will have USPS Tracking information and will be sent to the address you provided either on the GCFboat.info website or the form you filled out post GCF. (Whatever is the newest data on file.)

THINGS TO DO:
• Have you moved since GCF 2017? If so, or not sure, please fill out the form at: https://gcfboat.info (cut off date to update your information is Feb 2nd 2019)
• Watch your email for a shipping confirmation with tracking information from PayPal.

Please note about the website: This is not really for contact, sign up for updates or anything else. It is for nothing but shipping address updates from the web form supplied post GCF 2017. What if you move, submit your new address and in a week you move again? No problem! Whatever your newest submission is will be matched with your original GCF Boat order and that is where your shipment will sail off to. (cut off date to update your information is Feb 2nd 2019)

We have confirmed with the vendor that the GCF 2017 coins should be available in early December! Jesse Tuttle will update us further this weekend and soon there will be a form to fill out if your address has changed since the event. Thank you for your patience and support. We really appreciate it.

I know it has been a while since I have sent anything but I just wanted to let you all know that I got confirmation that the new samples are in production and we should have them in hand shortly. Due to some major issues, we had to do a major change to the coins that required starting over with new blueprints. We are very happy with how well it is going and are optimistic that this will allow us to deliver the coins that you all deserve. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Official announcement from the Geocoinfest 2017 Committee

Hello Geocoinfest 2017 Attendees,

We would like to thank each and every one of you for participating in such a wonderful weekend here in Long Beach, California. The weekend has filled our hearts and minds with wonderful memories. Unfortunately, we did have one key issue arise that we would like to address.

The main event coins (3D model of the Queen Mary that sits on a coin base, each with their own trackable code) developed a technical flaw during production, yielding a product that was not expected by the committee or the production team. The final product provided at the event does not meet the standards that Geocoinfest Committee or the AFK (production) team.

• The metal inlay of the ship design into the base was not crafted properly and this led to a number of chain reaction issues.

We are in the process of working with the AFK team to correct this issue, and they have accepted full responsibility as the producing factory over this error and have promised to correct the issues and remake all pieces. Jesse has personally told me, “We will cover everything including new codes, so everyone gets a second one free. In addition, we will cover shipping cost out to them as well! Let people know they can contact us directly with any questions or concerns at [email protected]” (This email will get bumped to their product manager, Laura, so that she can follow up on each one.)

It should be stressed that AFK is working eagerly to correct this issue and urges purchasers to have their coins replaced. We, the Geocoinfest committee, urge you to go to https://goo.gl/BJ5o6h and fill out the information that we need so AFK can replace your Geocoinfest coins. This will ensure that we have the correct address to ship your coins to. Without this info, we will not be able to cross reference your information & order # and will not be able to get you the coins you deserve.

Your coins will have a replacement made, whether yours has the above-mentioned error or not. Geocoinfest and AFK want everyone to be 100% happy with their coins. Please keep the coins you have now and, soon, you will receive a replacement for each coin you have.

Again, please accept my sincere apology and know that the AFK team will make this right for everyone involved. We will post a date for ETA of your replacement coin on our Geocoinfest Fcebook page, various other pages, our official website and we will send out a mass email for everyone we have an email for. We ask for your patience until we get more information.

We would like to remind/inform you of a few things you should know about attending Geocoinfest.

GETTING THERE:
When taking the 710 South Freeway to Geocoinfest, to avoid construction areas, DO NOT follow the signs that say “Queen Mary”. While they will get you to Geocoinfest, it will take you through construction areas that will delay your arrival time quite a bit. To avoid these areas, follow the signs that say “Downtown Long Beach / Convention Center / Aquarium”. ]Stay to the left of the freeway and keep following signs that say “Downtown / Aquarium”. You will stay to the left and exit at Broadway which turns to the left. Follow Broadway to Magnolia. Turn right on Magnolia. Magnolia turns into Queens Way. Keep straight on Queens Way. At this point you will follow the signs that say Queen Mary / Cruise Ships. Once you cross the bridge, stay to the left and follow the signs for the Queen Mary. Keep following Queens Way until you come to the entrance to the parking lot for the Queen Mary which will be on the left side.

PARKING:
You will not need to pay for parking when you enter. Your PAID registration comes with a parking pass you can use when you leave the parking lot at the end of the day. All others will need to pay when they leave. If you are staying aboard the ship in a room, your key card will allow you to leave and enter the parking area as many times you wish while you are a guest there.

For those who would rather park their vehicle and not have to worry about it, there are red Long Beach Transit buses that shuttle you to many of the exciting locations in the downtown area. It is a quick and easy way to get around. The committee has used it many times to get around the area and it is COMPLETELY FREE for everyone! The bus will take you to the area of Thursday night’s kickoff event at Bubba Gump’s so you don’t have to drive and find (paid) parking there. The bus service is very convenient if you wish to go off the ship to eat, explore or cache. Remember the Queen Mary is a hotel and their food and drink prices will be “hotel pricing” which is more expensive than off the ship.

BOARDING:
When you get to the Queen Mary, there is a bell desk at the ground level entrance to the ship. You only need to tell them that you are there to attend Geocoinfest and they will allow you to board the ship. No badge, ticket, or pass is required.

TRAVELBUGS/COINS:
For those of you that are bringing travel bugs to drop off at the event, we need to ask you a big favor. Please bring them in a Ziploc baggie with a 3x5 card inside of it indicating its goal and/or where it wants to visit next. This will help us coordinate things better, help us get that bug moving on to its intended location and make the travel bug area run smoother for our volunteers. We appreciate all your cooperation and help with this.
