Dear Classmates,
We are so sorry that it’s taken us so long to communicate with you regarding our ‘50th’ Class Reunion. As you all know, the COVID virus severely affected all of our lives in 2020 and caused the cancellation of all of our previous Reunion plans.
Our VCHS Class of 1970 (and the Class of 1971) will be recognized at halftime of the Home-coming football game on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021. There will be the usual Homecoming reunion festivities at the football game that evening on the VCHS campus as well as a tour of the high school campus at 10am on Saturday, Oct. 9th. VCS will provide refreshments and allow us to gather & mingle on campus after the tour.
The Reunion Committee has decided to hold a less formal Reunion gathering the evening of Saturday, October 9th. Rob (’69) & Pat (Mesman-‘70) Verhoeven have graciously opened their home to our Class of 1970 for our ‘50th’ HS Class Reunion. You are invited to join us that evening, beginning at 4pm, for a celebration of our ‘50th-plus’ HS Class Reunion at Pat & Rob Verhoeven’s home at 17633 Barber Ave, Artesia, CA 90701.
We will provide a Mexican-themed meal with handmade tacos & all the trimmings, including Margaritas. We will not have a formal program planned but want to provide a time of connecting with each other, reminiscing and enjoying each other as we remember our VC experiences and share who and where we are now.
After numerous promises to refund our deposit at The Grand, we were informed that our deposit will not be refunded to us. We will, however, be able to use those funds towards the use of their catering services and we will be attempting to incorporate their catering into our new Reunion plans.
All of this has definitely complicated our plans but we believe we can provide an enjoyable Reunion for $50/person those who can attend. Please RSVP as soon as possible (no later than August 30th).
• For those of you who have paid for attending in 2020 and will not be able to attend this year, please let us know so you can be refunded your funds.
• For those of you who have paid for the 2020 event and will be attending, you will be refunded the difference.
• For those of you who will be able to attend our 2021 event and have not yet paid, please send $50/person attending to Beth Bradley, 314 Blue Cavern Pt, Long Beach, CA 90803. (Please email Beth if you prefer to pay via Zelle or Venmo.
