STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Meet James!!

James keeps our judges’ technology running smoothly, helps with our Family Favorite Award.. and, of course, is a !
We are so grateful for all he does!

From James—-
•”My job is to run the technology for our amazing judges, and ensure that the valuable feedback they have to share makes it back to each dancer!

Dance fest has been something I’ve looked forward to every year my whole life. It’s exhausting & stressful, but somehow the long hours spent working with family and feeling the energy of all the dancers and studios makes it one of my favorite weekends of the year!”

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Backstage Gals 💖✨

•Demi, Miranda, & Baylee•

A message from the girls…
Backstage is where the magic happens!!! Being able to see the dancers grow over the years, while we grow with them is so special. There is nothing like watching these dancers do what they love from our perspective!! From seeing the girls in tears to facing their fears and stepping on the stage with their biggest smile and putting it all out on the stage and then come backstage and hug and celebrate. It truly is the best place to be at dance fest!

WE LOVE YOU!! 🤍

THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨: YEAR ONE

On March 26, 1994, the very first Utah State Dance Festival was held at the USU Spectrum!

A few Year One fun facts:
🤍 1 day of competition — 8 AM–7 PM
🤍 52 teams
🤍 55 solos
🤍 A drill down — of course! 😉
🤍 Our very first judges
🤍 And the ONLY year we had normal trophies!

But most importantly, Year 1 would not have happened without family. The Larsen and Wimmer families made up the entire unpaid staff- dinner afterward was their payment!!- and helped bring this little dream to life. 💖

Year One — March 26, 1994.
