Holy Smokey Ukulele Fest

Can someone please tell me who won the following: Mainland Uke, Jodi's tapestry and the Guitar Shop gift certificate. I know Pam won one of the Guitar Shop certificates but not sure who won the other! Thanks!

Great timing on this article from Marcy Marxer. A follow-up to my workshop.

Understanding inversions doesn’t just add chords to your vocabulary—it gives you options, confidence, and the freedom to relax, jam, and enjoy the music.

Another wonderful Holy Smokey Uke Fest under our belts! We want to thank everyone who pitched in to make it happen so smoothly. Phil for letting us use his PA system and running it all day for the open mic and raffle. Carol for taking pictures and videos throughout the fest. Dan Seifert for running the Corn Hole Tourney for us. And everyone else we assigned things to! We really do appreciate your help! I think it's great that we can have 30 year olds all the way up to 90 years old attend and everyone meshes so well together. No judgement from anyone for anything. Just one big happy family! Keep in mind that 2027 will be our last Holy Smokey Uke Fest. These 2 old hippies (Wendy and Marcia) are in need of a break! So, spread the word to your groups and let's see how many folks we can get there next year! Let's go out with a BANG! Now....it's time for a nap! HA!

Isn't it about time you changed your strings? Phil will lead a hands-on workshop on Wednesday. Bring your new strings and a uke. You'll take home your very own string-winder!
(I see you Mike Scott.)

We may add additional workshops, but the schedule is shaping up nicely.

We've had various group challenges in past years. Any thoughts on what we might do this year?

September 20th - 24th, 2026 at Smokey Hollow Campground in Lodi, Wi.

Hey fellow ukesters!! It might seem early to you, but Marcia and I have been very busy trying to put this years festival together! A few announcements for you:

Don't forget to make your reservation. You have to talk to MacKenzie at 608-635-4806 and tell her you're with the uke group. That will get you the off-season rate. You may end up going to her voicemail, but leave her a message and she will get back to you!

We're looking for workshop leaders. Whether you've taught before or this would be your first time, we'd love to hear from you. Don't be shy. Got something uke related that you're passionate about and would like to show others, please let us know. We welcome all kinds of of ideas and experience levels. One of the best parts of this festival is learning from each other. If you have a skill style, technique or musical topic you'd like to share, please consider leading a workshop. Some of the best festival moments often come from fellow players sharing what they love. If anyone has any ideas for workshops or really enjoyed a workshop from years past and would like a refresher in it, please let us know that as well!

It's going to be another great raffle this year! Ukes, strings, t-shirts, sweatshirts, gift cards, etc. If anyone would like to make a donation to the raffle this year, please let me know soon as I'm currently working on the donations. We've had quilts, jewelry items and other miscellaneous donations in the past. It all goes towards keeping this a free festival for all to enjoy!

That's it for now but.......stay tuned for more info!

Thank you!

Wendy and Marcia

AhRGh!!! We have to move the fest to one week later, on Sept. 20. (I promise it's for a good reason.) Maybe this will be a better date for you to attend? Check your email for details. Send me a DM if you'd like to be on the email list.
