🎨 Sometimes, art is more than art. Sometimes, it's a lifeline.

After losing fingers on his dominant hand, my grandfather, Willard Stone, began shaping red clay as a way to rehabilitate his injured hand. What started as therapy became a lifelong passion for sculpture.

That's part of the inspiration behind Young Originals. We want to give children the opportunity to discover what creativity can do for them—and the encouragement to share it with the world.

You never know what a child might discover with a little clay, a paintbrush, a pencil, or camera.

Their artwork deserves to be seen!

🎨 What if that drawing on your refrigerator is more important than you think?

Research suggests that arts education can support children's memory, creativity, and flexible thinking. Art isn't just about making something beautiful. It's an opportunity to explore, experiment, solve problems, and express ideas.

That's why we're creating Young Originals: Youth Art Exhibition at Venue On Main!

We want to encourage the next generation of artists to keep creating and give them the experience of seeing their own artwork displayed and celebrated in a real gallery.

Whether they're 4 or 18, their creativity deserves to be encouraged, and their artwork deserves to be seen!

Apparently, you know it’s a good Chamber meeting when you’re having such a great time you forget to take pictures! 😂

We had a great Locust Grove Area Chamber of Commerce meeting last night at Venue On Main, with plenty to talk about and even more to look forward to in the coming months.

What an incredible evening!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the very first Visionaries' Guild: After Hours. Seeing local business owners gathered in one room, getting to know one another beyond a handshake, sharing ideas, talking business, collaborating, and simply enjoying each other's company was exactly what I envisioned.

Small towns grow stronger when local businesses know, support, and champion one another. I truly believe we took a step in that direction, and I think everyone walked away with a new connection, a fresh idea, or a renewed excitement for what's possible when we work together.

A special thank you to our amazing community partners who helped make the evening possible:

• Locust Grove Area Chamber of Commerce for providing the delicious light bites from Grazed & Confused Charcuterie Company.
• Locust Grove Coffee Co. for keeping everyone refreshed with coffee, tea, and beverages throughout the evening.
• Cowboy's Country Store for providing the tables and chairs that helped bring the space together.

Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated!

A heartfelt thank you to the businesses and organizations that attended our inaugural gathering:

• Rowlands Quick Stop
• Cowboy's Country Store & 3S Livestock
• Locust Grove Area Chamber of Commerce
• Willard Stone Museum
• Classy Critters Pet Grooming
• The Cowlick Salon
• Good Times Custom Carts
• The Magic Showplace Theater & Rabbit-In-Hat Magic Shop
• Morehead Construction & Morehead Rental Properties
• Just For Her Fitness & Tanning
• Jerry's Auto
• Ingram Rental Properties
• Blue Rose Boutique
• The Gypsy Fig
• Green Country Kennels
• Locust Grove Coffee Co.
• Sophie's Canine Kitchen
• Driven Digital
• Race Built
• The Painted Stone Barbershop
• Local Vibe Magazine
• Venue On Main

This was just the first of many, and I couldn't be more excited about what's ahead.

If you're a local business owner—whether you have a storefront on Main Street or operate your business from home—and you'd like to be invited to the next Visionaries' Guild: After Hours, join our interest list here:

Together, let's continue building relationships, sharing ideas

Something exciting is happening on Main Street...

The tables are set.

The chairs are in place.

The beverages will be ready.

The conversations?

That's the part we can't wait for.

This Thursday, Venue On Main will host the first of many Visionaries' Guild: After Hours—an evening bringing together local business owners, entrepreneurs, dreamers, and doers who believe our community is capable of something even greater.

Visionaries' Guild: After Hours isn't another networking event where you collect business cards and head home.

It's about building relationships. Sharing ideas. Finding collaborators. Supporting one another. And creating the kind of momentum that changes a town.

Every thriving community has one thing in common: business owners who choose to work with each other instead of simply beside each other.

We're excited to kick off what we hope becomes a long-standing tradition for our business community.

If you've received an invitation, we hope you'll join us. Check your inbox—and don't forget your spam folder.

If you're a local business owner and haven't received your special invitation, there's still time! Message us ASAP, and we'll do our best to get you the details before Thursday.

Here's to the first of many inspiring evenings, new ideas, meaningful partnerships, and the future of Main Street.

We'll see you Thursday. Let's build something worth talking about.
