Good morning, Grandmaster Ultras family!🚀

We’re thrilled to announce a major upgrade to our event!

Thanks to your incredible support, we have officially purchased a professional Jaguar G4 RFID Timing System — the same level used at major races across the country! This is a huge step forward for accuracy, reliability, and the overall race experience.

What this means for you:

- Precise chip timing at the Start/Finish line

- Automatic finish line photos captured by the Jaguar Snapshot camera system

- Fast and accurate results with improved live tracking for your friends and family

We currently have 45 amazing runners registered — a huge thank you to each and every one of you for believing in this event! 🙏 Your early registration made this investment possible.

Note about the Mile 6 checkpoint:

We will have a timing crew stationed there. Clock times will be manually entered so your supporters can still follow your progress through the remote checkpoint.

We’re incredibly excited about the level of professionalism this brings to the February 26–28, 2027 event.

If you haven’t registered yet, now is a great time — spots are filling up!

🌵 Look How Far We’ve Come – Grandmaster Ultras 2019 → 2026 🌵

From a small, passionate group in our very first year to a thriving desert ultra community — we’re so proud of how this event has grown!

1st photo (2019 – Our very first event):

A small but mighty crew under the pavilion. This is where it all began.

Notable legends: Tor Gudmundsen (who ran his very first 100-miler and set the men’s course record), Gordy Ainsleigh, Ian Maddieson, Catra Corbett, and Ann Trason (not pictured but part of that historic first year).

2nd photo (2026):

Fast forward to year 2026 — a much bigger, vibrant group of 50+ year old ultrarunners ready to take on the Arizona Strip trails together.

What hasn’t changed? The same spirit, the same “Old is Cool” energy, the same love for these rugged desert trails, and the same belief that age is just a number.

Thank you to every single runner, volunteer, crew member, and supporter who has been part of this journey. You’ve helped build something truly special.

Now it’s your turn.

Registration for Grandmaster Ultras 2027 (Feb 26–28) is open and filling up nicely!
