I knew this day was coming. We all did. But I don’t think any of us were really ready for it.
Queen Adelynn was there for the parades, the festivals, the long days, the laughs, the pictures, the new friendships and all of the little moments in between. But what made her a Queen was never the crown sitting on her head it was the heart she carried underneath it. ❤️
And then Sunday came….
Watching Adalyn stand there as Johnny Appleseed Queen one final time, knowing that in just a few moments she would crown the next Queen I don’t think I was prepared for how emotional that would be. Then in one tiny moment, an entire year became memories.
One reign ended.
Another began.
And my heart was somehow completely broken and completely full at the same time.
Adalyn, I hope you know how incredibly proud we are of you. I hope when you look back on this year, you don’t just remember the places you went or the crown you wore. I hope you remember the people you touched, the little girls who looked up to you, the friendships you made and the way you represented something you loved so beautifully. You gave this title everything you had.
So while we may have watched you hand over your title, there is one thing you will never have to hand over the memories and the place you earned in our hearts. 🍎❤️
And Olivia… when Adalyn placed that crown on your head, she wasn’t just giving you a crown. She was handing you a tradition, a responsibility, and the beginning of a story that is now yours to write. I can’t wait to be a part of it and watch!!
Take care of it. Love every second of it. Take too many pictures. Go to every festival you can. Laugh until your stomach hurts. Make the friendships. Serve your community. And when the days feel long, remember that someday, much sooner than you think, you’ll be the one taking that crown off for the last time. 💔
