Hello FirstTry Triathlon community:

Thank you to all the Racers for your participation this year. 2026 represented a 35% increase over 2025! We're so glad that you continue to keep First Try on your schedule! Race results and photo links were sent to your email today!

Thank you to all of our sponsors! Your contribution helps keep entry fees lower than any Tri around and provides the resources that we need to improve the race annually!

And thank you to all of the volunteers! First Try puts 60+ people on course, likely more per mile than any race. Please don't forget the volunteer appreciation party Wednesday, June 24 th at 5:30 pm at Fenton Winery & Brewery/Dream Machine Distillery

Don't forget to put this tentative date in your calendar- June 19th, 2027- as we run it all back again next year!

The First Try Triathlon is on Saturday June 20, 2026. It includes the following events: Youth Fast Try Triathlon, First Try Triathlon, Fast Try Triathlon, and Youth First Try Triathlon.

What an amazing day! 111 people came out and gave it their all, we are so honored to be able to host such a fun and inspiring event year after year!

We've had several people ask questions about swim buoys. The USAT site isn't very clear but I did get the question answered and it is okay to swim with a swim buoy!

This does not include actual life preservers like you might wear water skiing- see Restube.us for examples.

Obviously it's late to go buy one of these today so if this is a concern of yours we may have to evaluate race day. Please see me tomorrow morning (or tonight at the park) and we can see if what you have is okay to use.

Hello FirstTry Triathlon folks!

Registrations continue to flow in- awesome! The weather looks great so far- we're actively keeping our fingers crossed!

Packet pickup starts tonight, 5pm, at Fenton Winery & Brewery/Dream Machine Distillery

Stop by, pick up your packet and relieve some of the pressure and congestion of race day stuff. We'll be there until 8!

Happy Wednesday FirstTry Triathlon community!

A few important notes for this week!

Packet pick up starts Thursday, 5 to 8, at Fenton Winery & Brewery/Dream Machine Distillery , Friday 5 to 8 at the race site, and Saturday morning 6 to 7 for you last minute folks.

Race is feet wet at 8 am Saturday! You must be here, set up in transition, and marked by 730 or face disqualification. You must start with your assigned wave unless you specifically ask for a change! In other words, please be early.

Course talk starts at 740 on the beach. Be there!

More detailed scheduling info and general info can be found in the website in the scheduling tab or athlete guide. Maps of the routes are also on the site.
