A NEW ROUTE. 50 YEARS OF TRADITION.

Did you know the original Lincoln Marathon course looped around the Lincoln Airport?

A lot has changed in 50 years — but some things have stayed the same. A campus start line. Miles along beautiful Sheridan Boulevard. And a finish on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus.

For 2027, the route is evolving once again!

We’re relocating sections of both the Marathon and Half Marathon courses, including a loop around the inspiring Nebraska State Capitol and a slightly new finish line location.

But don’t worry — you’ll still finish on the beautiful UNL campus, in the shadow of majestic Memorial Stadium.

50 years. Countless miles. A whole new view.

We’re excited for the new views, energy and opportunities this revised course will bring to the 50th Lincoln Marathon!

Check out the new route, and we'll see you at the start line on May 2, 2027!

Registration opens on December 5, 2026.

The 49th Annual Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon will run on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

One month ago today, the streets of Lincoln were filled with determination, celebration and thousands of runners chasing big goals at the 2026 Lincoln Marathon & Half Marathon.

Today, on Global Running Day, we celebrate every mile, every early morning, every comeback and every finish line — whether it’s 26.2 miles or your first run around the block.

Running has a way of bringing people together, pushing us forward and reminding us what we’re capable of. If you ran with us last month, we hope you’re still carrying that feeling with you. And if you’re lacing up today, know that every step counts.

Keep moving. Keep showing up. Keep running your race.
