VMI Environment Virginia Symposium

Great news!

Virginia is investing a record $304 million in soil and water conservation for FY 2027 — the largest funding level in the history of the Virginia Agricultural Best Management Practices Cost-Share Program (VACS).

The allocation marks an $81 million increase over last year and the fifth straight year of record funding. Through the program, farmers across the Commonwealth receive financial and technical support to adopt proven conservation practices that protect water quality, strengthen soil health and boost long-term agricultural sustainability.

Eligible producers can receive up to $300,000 in state cost-share reimbursement.
