Hey guys! We sent out an email about the upcoming One Acts, but in case you didn't get it, here's all the info!
The *Robinson Players* are back, and we're so excited to kick off the year
with our annual *Fall One Acts Festival *on *October 14-16th in the BLACK
BOX THEATER*!
This is the best way to get involved with student-run theater at Bates!!!
We encourage anyone and everyone AT ALL LEVELS OF THEATER EXPERIENCE to
come and be a part of a ONE ACT PLAY!
We are looking for:
DIRECTORS
ACTORS
STAGE MANAGERS
SET DESIGNERS
LIGHTING DESIGNERS
TECHNICIANS
*ANYONE WHO HAS A PASSION FOR THEATER!!!* (we will find something for you)
What we really need right now are directors who want to direct a play in
the festival. We seriously will take anyone with little or no experience
and we will help you put on your very own TEN MINUTE ONE ACT play. Now
doesn't that sound awesome?
If you would like to direct, your first step is to *find a play!*
It must be written and published by a professional playwright and
IT MUST BE TEN MINUTES LONG OR LESS!!!
You can find thousands of one act plays online searching via Google, or
through a number of licensing and publishing companies (the easiest ones to
navigate are Samuel French and Dramatists Play Service, but one act plays
are LITERALLY EVERYWHERE online, and EVEN IN LADD LIBRARY!!!)
*You should have found a play for submission by next Monday, September
19th and have submitted it with the attached form to the office of
Professor Kati Vecsey located above Schaeffer Theater in Room 303. *
*If you need help finding a play you can contact Sam James
at [email protected] .*
*Everyone else who wants to get involved backstage can email Sam James.*
The next step after finding the plays is the *AUDITION!!!!! The audition
dates are September 24th at 1:00pm and September 25th 1:00pm in the BLACK
BOX THEATER (***location subject to change***)*and we will send reminders
of those in the coming weeks. So *if you're planning on acting, YOU MUST
SHOW UP ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!!*
*AGAIN WE ENCOURAGE ANYONE FROM ACCOMPLISHED THESPIAN TO PASSIONATE ARTISTS
WITH NO PRIOR BATES THEATER EXPERIENCE (We're lookin' at you Class of
2020)!!!!*
Again, you can contact Sam James at [email protected] with any and all
questions! More emails to come!
Thanks,
Your ROBCATS
