Special shoutout to our amazing water station volunteers who braved the weather for today’s race! The Phillips Family was back in full force at Whirlpool State Park and when I reached out to the Tuscarora Nation at the last minute for some extra help (I teach at the Tuscarora Elementary School) they came through in a pinch! Kelli Chew and her boys were at the bottom of Lewiston Hill, the Printup family was setup at the Queenston Bridge overpass, and the Swanson family were at the Whirlpool Bridge. I also want to thank and Liz Brady and her crew from the Niagara Beautification Commission for covering the water station at Devil’s Hole. These are very important jobs and we are very thankful for their support! And finally, a huge shoutout to my good friend Tom Sauvageau who was up early this morning to put out the water tables, Gatorade jugs, cups, etc in advance of the race. Teamwork!!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Niagara Falls USA Marathon and Half Marathon have been cancelled for April of 2023. We were informed this week that a major construction project will be taking place at Artpark State Park that will completely block the course going up Lewiston Hill. We apologize for any inconvenience and will be issuing refunds to those who had signed up for the 2023 races that are cancelled. We are still planning to move forward with the Historic Lewiston 5K on Friday April 28th and will be back in 2024 using the same amazing USATF certified course as in the past!

NIAGARA FALLS USA MARATHON: Thanks to everyone who joined us for the inaugural Niagara Falls USA Marathon and Half Marathon this past Saturday. The weather was perfect and the feedback has been very positive. This course featured spectacular views of the Niagara Gorge, the Niagara River, Canada, and even Niagara Falls! Runners travelled through four of New York's most beautiful state parks (Artpark, Devil's Hole, Whirlpool, and Niagara Falls State Park). They also ran past the Niagara Power Project, two international bridges (Lewiston-Queenston and Whirlpool) and the Underground Railroad Museum before making the turn and heading back to Lewiston.

Many thanks to our amazing volunteers who helped out on race day. We had Checkers A/C at water station #1, the Phillip's Family at water station #2, Niagara Beautification at water station #3, Lew-Port Multi-Age students at water station #4, and the Boy Scouts at water station #5. I would also like to thank Tom & Marcy Sauvageau for setting all the course markers the night before the race. Tom also spent 2 days helping me trim branched and clean the pathway up Lewiston Hill. Thanks to Brickyard Pub & BBQ for the delicious post race food, Tony and MaryJo Dean, Sue Caballero for helping with packet pickup, Luke for handing out finisher medals and bottled water at the finish line, Colton RV for the use of their travel trailer for packet pickup, Modern Disposal for the portable toilets, and all the great staff at New York State Parks for allowing us to host the event and keeping them so beautiful for all to enjoy! I would also like to thank my wife Joanne for all her hard work preparing for race day and managing the event along with my son Paul who is in my opinion one of the most amazing event managers and professional timers in the business!

We appreciate all the kind words and are motivated to be back next year even bigger and better than ever. Please spread the word and encourage family and friends to join the fun in 2023. We hope to launch registration in early Fall. Thanks again and we'll see you at the next race!
