Our fair has some very rich and interesting history! ❤️ Read this article from Explore West Virginia to learn more about our roots and what makes us especially special.

Wars paused it and hard times tested it, but the big late-summer party in little Lewisburg kept coming back for well over a century, and folks still drive hours for cinnamon rolls by the cattle barns. The reason it never quietly faded like so many small-town fairs isn't the rides or the grandstand. It comes down to something the Greenbrier Valley simply refused to let go of.

The State Fair of West Virginia is proud to celebrate the impact of 4-H and the young people who help shape the future of agriculture in our beautiful mountain state.
