Hello Bluegrass Fans,
As most of you know, the 2nd weekend of August is fast approaching, but it gives me great sadness to inform you that the L'il Margaret's Bluegrass Festival ended last year at 30 years. That's a long dedication to keep a legacy event going.
I took over and became the promoter of the event in 2017 after the passing of its founder, Mr. Joseph Goddard. My goal was to turn it around with fresh entertainment and bring excitement back into the event. It's was challenging, but I was determined to do it.
Last year, the festival made its milestone of 30 years and as they say, all good things come to an end. Ms. Margaret Goddard and all of the Goddard Family decided that it was time to put it to rest. As years go by, we all get tired and discover that our bodies can't do as it did, say, 30 years ago.
Putting on a festival such as this takes a lot of work and maintenance. The original buildings on the property need a lot of upkeep and it takes more effort each and every year.
First, I want to thank Ms. Goddard, her family, and close friends for their dedication to keeping this tradition alive for as long as they did. Also I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to bring it to 30.
Thanks to everyone who supported me for doing this and I look forward to presenting you with my next Bluegrass endeavor in the near future.
