R.I.P. Sid Krofft 🕊
July 30, 1929 – April 10, 2026

Sid Krofft was a Canadian-born puppeteer and television producer best known for his work in children’s entertainment alongside his brother Marty Krofft. The duo co-created a number of imaginative live-action fantasy series during the 1970s, including H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. Their productions became defining examples of creative children’s programming, blending puppetry, vibrant visuals, and fantasy storytelling.

Throughout his career, Krofft helped shape a unique style of television that influenced generations of creators. He and his brother were recognized for their contributions with honors including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Sid Krofft’s work remains influential in the world of television, particularly in children’s programming. His imaginative productions continue to be revisited and appreciated, reflecting a lasting impact on entertainment and pop culture.
