"So why do you guys do markets anyway?"

I got asked this question by a vendor at our 4th TCM market, during an EXTREMELY cold and wet spring market that was not going as planned. It was clear to all our vendors that this had been a ton of work, just for our displays and products to get twisted and doused by storms for three straight days. The customers that were crazy enough to brave the rain were quickly chased back to their cars by a bitter cold and biting wind. 6 months of planning literally running down the drain.

I'm glad to say the gloomy circumstances didn't cloud my why. It's never been about doing it to be seen, or just to make sales.

It's always been about the people. Bringing them together, giving them a reason to get out of the house, sharing something they can put on their calendar, sending them home with something they love, helping them create a special space that's perfect for them, helping their business grow. The rain may have stopped me from doing some of those things for just that day, but it didn't stop me from continuing to do what I know I'm made to do.
