Atlanta Mixed Classic is designed to respect the game of bowling as a team sport. Too often bowling is seen as an individual event or a lineup of individuals who happen to have scores merged, but rarely as a cohesive team competition. This tournament is designed to bring back that team atmosphere and competitiveness. The format is very much like that used from the tournament once known as the “Mix
ed Storm Challenge.” Many who attended this event in the past know just how exhilarating this event was. With its end in 2009, a void in the sport became clear for a unique event that is fun, challenging, and not your standard tournament; WE HAVE ANSWERED THAT CALLING. We have revised this basis of this tournament to be bigger and robust with a new refreshed perspective. We would characterize it as the “The storm is over, let the classic begin!”
This is a one day event that will start at 10am in the morning; teams will be assigned a pair of lanes in which they will bowl 3 games as they would in regular tournament. After the regular games are bowled there will be a lunch break for the bowlers, and the lanes will be re-oiled (if time permits). Bowlers will return at 1:30pm to bowl 10 baker games. Each baker game will be bowled on ONE lane on pair in a two game block, teams will move after each two game block at that time teams may also change their line-ups. (For those unfamiliar with a baker format is where more than 1 bowler comprises the score of one game. In this case it is a 4 person format and are in two game blocks to that every bowler will get 5 frames over two games. Bowlers in position 2 and 4 will close out the 1st and 2nd game in the 10th respectively.) Squared Circle is a group of young professionals who donate time and money to various community events and happen to be bowlers as well. We work hard at building strong alliances throughout our local and bowling community and therefore able to provide great giveaways during the tournament. We will be raffling off an assortment of bowling equipment, apparel, electronics as well as a brand new TV!!!! There is over $1500 in prizes to be given away to bowlers just for attending this tournament. Because of the unique format we can only support 40 team entries (number of lanes in the center). This will be handled on a first come first serve basis for reservations, so get you entries in early to secure your spot and be eligible for special giveaways.
