Hey from Haapy Blue! Long time no talk to! Sally is out doing her favorite thing mowing, she got a new mower she put together all by herself! Sooo I am supposed to be handling anything else, I think that includes stealing her phone to make a post about Happy Blue! She never has time to talk about me or what we are up to!
Wow have I been busy! Our guests have been loving on us BIG and we so appreciate each and everyone of you especially in this economy. I continue to stirve to give you the best 5 star stay ever! As ya”ll know Sally ( you know the person that thinks she owns me) …she will not stop doing things to me, adding amenities which have become some of my guest’s favorites including an all orange outside cat named Punk, who is stealing yall s hearts! She has been gardening like crazy, mowing which is her most favorite thing to do, trimming trees, and touching me up with fresh paint here and there.
I gotta be honest, even though Sally in the last couple of years, has braved 2 broken ankles at the same time, then had to have two rounds of revisions of that, got a new knee, and got two new eyes, somehow at the young age of 70, she has more energy than ever. I was born in 1903, and have been well kept, hopefully aging with grace, but I am just sayin no stopping her!
No keeping up!
One of our most favorite things to do together is to be creative! Sally came up with the idea of offering some fun classes for our guests and they are loving it. There have been things like vintage beading, ornament making, scrapbooking, making some funky creatures out of mixed media, etc etc. She has lots of classes to choose from. Guests are loving coming back to Happy Blue after a busy day in downtown Laurel sightseeing and shopping, gathering to make something fun for them to take home as a memory of their visit. There have been some yummy occasions like a tea party or making mini charcuterie boards and then enjoying the fruits of your labor as well!
Ya know, when I get to jump on Social Media when I borrow (steal) Sally’s phone, I see and read so many things …. the great, the bad, the happy and the ugly. Lately I have seen some questions about how we are doing here in Laurel?
One thing I rest assure you, me and all my friends, (every other small business in Laurel) are ready to welcome you with open arms. Things are buzzing here, yes we have red dirt street construction going on, all for the better. Our guests even bring some home on their shoes to share with me, how very thoughtful! A small town, working together, to be amazing. Come on over, down, or up whichever fits you. Our fall and the holidays are magical and now is the time to make plans
I hear Sally say “great things don’t always come easy”and “most things happen for all the right reasons!” We are a WIP ( work in progress). I think she learned that term 50 years ago when she was in college, don’t tell her I told you how many years ago she went to college! I also hear her say “Just keep swimming! Or “keep that hamster wheel moving! “ sooo that is what we are doing here in Laurel, all positive for everyone!
Well I heard the mower stop so I bet she will be coming in to catch a break so I better put her phone back where she left it. Quick …Oh yea, one last thing my owner says is “We can agree to disagree, no need to be ugly, be kind …..so please no ugly comments, we are friendly southern folks!
Lots of Love, Your favorite house…. Happy Blue!
P.S. Look at our new Logo! We love it, hope you do too!
