ROCKER STEINER SHINES IN ROUND 2 WIN
Rocker Steiner made the most of his opportunity during Round 2 of the 2025 NFR. The world leader matched up with Bridwell Pro Rodeo's Silver Beaver for an 88-point trip to win the round and add $36,668 to his ledger.
"It felt great. That's one that I was scared of," Steiner said. "In the second round last year, I got thrown off and it took a world championship away from me. And obviously, going into my next second round, that's something that was in my head."
Steiner's lead in the PRCA | Bill Fick Ford World Standings increased to over $113,000.
NEWS & NOTES
In ba****ck riding, Waylon Bourgeois continues to impress in his NFR debut, cashing checks on each of the first two nights. The 26-year-old looks to stay hot atop Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Priefert's Dusty Roads. Last year in Round 8, Dean Thompson collected a go-round win with the bucking horse, posting an 88-point trip.
In saddle bronc riding, Ryder Wright looks to reclaim the lead in the PRCA | Bill Fick Ford World Standings after finishing fourth in Round 2. The reigning PRCA World Champion draws a familiar foe in Korkow Rodeos' Joker Poker. The pair met at the 2023 NFR in Round 3, collecting a second-place finish with an 87.5-point ride. Kade Bruno hopes to regain his footing after an 88-point trip in Round 1 in a showdown with Powder River Rodeo's Miss Valley.
In bull riding, it's been all Stetson Wright, who seeks his third-straight go-round win. His next challenge, Burch Rodeo's Cookies and Cream, promises plenty of twists and turns. Ky Hamilton recorded the only qualified ride on the bull this season at the Cinch Playoffs Governor's Cup presented by Texas Precious Metals in Sioux Falls, S.D., with a 91.75-point ride. Wacey Schalla has risen to the moment as well, posting a pair of 88.5-point rides to start his second NFR. The all-around cowboy will face off with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Richard Slam, a bull that's conceded just three qualified rides in 14 attempts this season.
