La Voz -LLSA at UNLV- William S. Boyd School of Law Latino Law Student Association (LLSA) at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law La Voz is the Latino/Hispanic Law Student Association at the William S.

Boyd School of Law whose primary focus is to empower and promote the success of law students with backgrounds that are not traditionally represented in the legal profession. It is most known for the Rebel Rasier and the Huellas Mentorship Program. Huellas, “footprints” in Spanish, is a nationally recognized and award-winning program. The program is a four-tier mentorship program where Nevada attor

neys are paired with a group of mentees: a high school student, an undergraduate student, and a Boyd law student. Through Huellas and other programs, La Voz successfully serves as a unifying and informative organization that connects with the Latino community as well as functions as an educational and cultural instrument for all students, faculty, and staff.

Last week, La Voz had the incredible opportunity to attend the HNBA/VIA 2025 Corporate Counsel Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Our Director of Outreach, Blanca Peña, and La Voz member Miette Lopez proudly volunteered at the conference, while President Alexander Guerrero-Torres had the honor of serving as Bailiff for the prestigious 30th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition. Throughout this powerful experience, our members not only helped facilitate the conference but also made meaningful connections with law students and attorneys from across the nation, exploring emerging fields of law and reaffirming our commitment to advancing Latinos in the legal profession.

Earlier this month, La Voz had the honor of hosting the Nevada Future Lawyers Program, offering 10 undergraduate students from Northern and Southern Nevada a unique and immersive experience into the legal profession.

During the course of two days, attendees toured courthouses, visited law firms, and met with Boyd Law School’s admissions team to learn more about their path toward law school. The program concluded with our Viva Las Huellas mixer, where attendees had the opportunity to network with legal professionals and law students from across Southern Nevada.

We are incredibly proud of these students and are confident they will go on to achieve amazing things in their careers. We can’t wait to see them flourish as Nevada’s future lawyers!
