We've been getting a lot of private messages asking about the future of ANIMEGACON. So to clarify, we are taking the best of ANIMEGACON and revamping it into a new convention. As our first step, we are introducing Tournament of Cosplay on February 20-21, 2015 at the Las Vegas Spring Festival at the LINQ on the Las Vegas Strip. Tournament of Cosplay will be a cosplay gathering that will host a few main events like Masquerade, J fashion show, concerts, and maybe even a guest or two (or more). We will have vendors and an artist alley as well! And most of all, it's all FREE to attend!! So please go to our new page and follow us for more information as they develop!

On February 20-21, 2015 we will be launching Tournament of Cosplay (please "LIKE" the page to keep up with the latest news) at the LINQ Las Vegas! As the name implies, this is a Masquerade during the Chinese New Year in the Desert/Las Vegas Spring Festival https://www.facebook.com/lasvegasspringfestival to be judged by cosplay extraordinaire, Jez Roth and his incomparable team of legendary judges. The two day event will be FREE to all attendees!!
There will be a small tournament fee for participants in the Masquerade with ALL proceeds going to the Prize pool.

With the ever changing climate (with the addition of several comic conventions, Otakon Vegas, etc.), the creators of ANIMEGACON are planning for future events and conventions in anime, cosplay, and comics in Las Vegas. Tournament of Cosplay is our first step toward morphing ANIMEGACON into a full fledged convention again in the near future.

CNY in the Desert™ is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote Lunar New Year! Join us on
February 19 - 21, 2026 as we usher in the Year of the Horse!
