Midnight ‘Astronaut Drop’ Pulls Grand Crowd for NYE in Las Vegas

Nearly 1,000 attendees created space for a first-time, space-themed New Year’s Eve celebration, Spacious, produced by award-winning event design and production group, Fresh Wata (FW). With a national presence and design repertoire, the company developed the pop-up event to launch a mindful New Year’s Eve tradition with a countdown to a giant, 9-foot ‘astronaut drop’ at midnight. The inaugural experience and drop took place outside of Fresh Wata’s main hub, Fresh Wata Studios, located off-strip and three blocks West of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Stadium site.

An eclectic community of conscious creators and cultured residents gathered at the sold-out event to launch into 2019 with higher vibrations, a grounded mindset and responsible revelry. Attendees photographed and roamed dozens of activations designed to inspire ambitions and feed imaginations for the New Year.

“Spacious is a cool example of why sharing your passion and dreams with your community is important. It started off as a conversation with friends and the Fresh Wata team about what we (as locals) would like to experience on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas,” shared Tricia Costello, CEO of Fresh Wata.

The party’s unconventional setting surrounded wellness, design, health and tech to celebrate life and realign intentions in creative spaces to bring in the New Year. Event highlights included:

80’ video-mapped ‘CTRL Station’ with sounds by DJ Amara featuring a ‘Mission Control Countdown’ by Jay R Beatbox

First-ever ‘Astronaut Drop’ from 60’ above the CTRL Station’s dance floor

Having succeeded in its mission to create a ‘new take on new years’ Spacious NYE received support from sponsors Kettle One Botanicals, Benjamin Moore, Bulleit Bourbon, TruFusion, Tanqueray, Silent Savasana, Don Julio, TNG Models, Bailey’s, Las Vegas Weekly, Ketel One and FWR Rental Haus.

Plans for NYE 2020 are already in motion however, it hasn’t been confirmed if Spacious will return to Fresh Wata Studios. The team shared that there are a lot of opportunities they are considering to enhance the pop-up event’s experience and requests to expand the capacity to new locations across the country.
