Advanced current AI development is still deeply rooted in 1950s computer science philosophies. 💻

AI is already ubiquitous, as it has been integrated into our lives across various sectors such as healthcare, retail, entertainment, autonomous vehicles, smart spaces and more with smart devices and technology that is accelerating us into the future.

👉This brings us to the critical link between graphics and AI.

Diverse training datasets are key for building AI models, but real-world data can fall short. The built-in feature for domain randomisation enables Nvidia Drive Sim, which is a robotics simulation application and synthetic data generation tool, to randomly vary the texture, colours, lighting and placement in certain simulations, and also used for testing autonomous vehicles. It has the ability to change the size or language of a street sign or the position of the sun.

Randomising conditions, like lighting, colours, and object placement, is essential for creating diverse synthetic training data for more accurate AI models. The variations in these digital worlds mirror the variations which appear in real life where the unexpected and unpredictable occur regularly.

As an example, in factories, an object handled by one worker may end up in a different position when a different worker handles the same object. The variations in environmental conditions, like positioning, are significant when training robots how to work in a real factory using synthetic data and simulations. These abilities have enabled the production of robust smart factories and cities.

Smart Home Habitation 🏠

The today is one of the prime applications for networked embedded systems with the ability to learn. It is connected to the Internet and the user’s smartphone and it knows when the device owner comes and goes. It also knows specific details like the weather forecast. The smart home uses this information to make practical decisions on when to start and stop the heating system, saving a lot on energy costs as a result.

Devices such as represent new classes of smart, embedded systems. Electronic intelligence will reach into existing products that are, today, extremely simple. The changes will lead to novel ways of approaching the market.

Lighting is an area where we expect to see new business models.
technology has reinvented the light bulb. At one level for lighting manufacturers, this is a challenge because now people don’t buy multiple bulbs, however this is also an opportunity.
