Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play by Anne Washburn, is a dark comedy about the power of pop culture. It follows survivors after a nuclear collapse who piece together an episode of The Simpsons, watching that simple campfire memory evolve into a commercial theater troupe and, eventually, a grand, mythic tribal opera where Mr. Burns becomes a legendary villain. The Rio Grande Theatre is thrilled to welcome A Children’s Theatre of the Mesilla Valley (ACT) as they present the hit musical comedy Mean Girls JR.!

Adapted from Tina Fey’s blockbuster film and Broadway sensation, Mean Girls JR. follows Cady Heron as she steps into the fierce and funny world of high school drama. When she’s welcomed by “The Plastics,” a trio led by the infamous Regina George, things get hilariously complicated—and Cady soon must decide what loyalty, friendship, and staying true to yourself really mean.

This high-energy show features outstanding youth performers from across Doña Ana County, delivering sharp humor, catchy songs, and big talent to our stage.
