La Porte Sunflower Fair

09/25/2026

🌻 We’ve been working behind the scenes to find a way to bring a little of that Sunflower Fair spirit back to Downtown La Porte this fall — and we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on! 💛

While we couldn’t reschedule the full Fair, we’re thrilled that some of our Sunflower Fair vendors will be joining us for a special pop-up artisan market during Downtown Spooktacular on October 10!

Plus, trick-or-treating and the Rib Cook-Off will still be part of the fun. 🎃🍖

We know it won’t be the same as our September celebration, but we hope you’ll come downtown, support these local vendors and enjoy a fun fall afternoon with us!

👻🎃 Check out all the details below — and stay tuned for more to come!

DOWNTOWN SPOOKTACULAR IS BACK — WITH A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA THIS YEAR! 👻🎃

We’re getting ready for a spooktacular Saturday in Downtown La Porte! 🍂

With the cancellation of this year’s Sunflower Fair, we’re doing things a little differently — and adding some extra fun to Downtown Spooktacular!

🍬 DOWNTOWN TRICK-OR-TREAT
📅 Saturday, October 10
⏰ 1–3 p.m.
📍 Downtown La Porte

As usual, little ghosts and goblins can visit participating Downtown businesses from 1–3 p.m. for trick-or-treating! 🍭🎃 We’ll share the list of participating businesses as we get a little closer.

🛍️ POP-UP ARTISAN MARKET
⏰ Noon–4 p.m.
📍 Downtown La Porte — exact location to be announced

We’re also excited to welcome Sunflower Fair vendors who were able to make this new date work for a special pop-up artisan market! Come shop local, discover some new favorites and support the talented vendors who were planning to join us for the Fair. 💛

🍖 AND THE RIB COOK-OFF WILL GO ON!
The Sunflower Fair Rib Cook-Off will also take place on October 10. We’ll have more details to share soon, but get ready to see some serious rib-smoking competition downtown! 🔥🍖

So bring the kids for some trick-or-treating, shop the pop-up market, and enjoy a fall afternoon in Downtown La Porte! 🍁🎃

More details — including the list of participating businesses and the market location — are coming soon!

We can’t wait to see you downtown on October 10! 👻🧡

OUR SUNFLOWER FAIR VENDORS STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT! 💛🌻

Today was supposed to be a big one for nearly 100 amazing vendors who were getting ready to fill Downtown La Porte with handmade goods, unique finds, delicious treats, beautiful creations and so much more.

Unfortunately, the weather just didn’t pan out — but that doesn’t mean these incredible small businesses, makers and organizations stopped preparing for today.

Many of our vendors made special products, stocked up on inventory and spent weeks getting ready specifically for the Sunflower Fair. They were counting on seeing all of YOU today.

So, La Porte, let’s show them some love. ❤️

👇 Take a look through the vendors tagged below!
🛍️ Follow their pages.
💻 Shop their websites or online stores.
📩 Reach out to see what they have available.
🚗 Make plans to visit them locally.
📣 And most importantly — share their businesses with your friends and family!

We know one post can’t make up for a canceled event, but every purchase, follow, share and kind word can make a difference for a small business that was counting on today.

The Sunflower Fair may not be happening, but we can still make sure our vendors know how much La Porte appreciates them. 🌻💛

Scroll through the comments, find someone new to support, and SHOP SMALL! 🛍️✨

A DIFFICULT DECISION FOR THE SUNFLOWER FAIR 💔🌻

After closely monitoring the forecast, speaking with our event partners and consulting with La Porte County Emergency Management, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 27th Annual Sunflower Fair, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 19.

With significant rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in the forecast, we have serious concerns about the safety and overall experience of the event. La Porte County Emergency Management has advised us to cancel based on these anticipated conditions. With nearly 100 vendors, temporary tents, live entertainment, food vendors, family activities and more planned throughout downtown, we feel this is the responsible decision for our vendors, volunteers, staff and attendees.

We know this is disappointing — especially after all the time and effort so many people have put into preparing for this year’s Fair. We are incredibly disappointed, too. 💛

A tremendous thank you to our vendors, sponsors, volunteers, partners and everyone who has helped make the Sunflower Fair possible. Your support means so much to us, and we’re grateful for your understanding.

Unfortunately, the Sunflower Fair will not be rescheduled. However, we’re already looking at ways we might be able to create another opportunity for our vendors and community to come together this fall. Stay tuned 👀🍂

Thank you, La Porte, for your understanding and continued support. We’ll see you downtown soon. 💛
