We are happy to report that the Culver’s fundraiser for Friends of CROP raised $282.29. Thank you to the many supporters who came out to eat and support the effort. Thank you also to Anita Turner, Sally Burroughs, Mark Johnson, and Bob & Laurie Barnhart for being volunteer servers throughout the evening. And a thank you to the Culver’s Team True Blue – a Culver’s Francise Restaurant Group.

Happening at the 2023 Walk!:

School Bags sewn by sewers at Mt. Hope UMC and Okemos Community Church will be used to assemble school kits at the Greater Lansing CROP Hunger Walk (CHW) on Sun., Oct. 8! All Walkers and Rockers who participate in the community Walk starting at Grace UMC at 2 pm (Registration starts at 1 pm) are invited to participate in this service project.

Kits will be distributed by Church World Service (CWS) primarily in the US. (When kit supplies are needed internationally, they are typically obtained from nearby businesses to help the local economies, workers and their families.)

You can give children the classroom essentials they need to learn, dream big and reach for the stars.
You are invited to bring these specific items (in any combination or quantity) to the Walk:

- One pair of *blunt* scissors removed from the package (*rounded tip*, only)
- Three 70-page count spiral bound notebooks or notebooks (no loose-leaf or filler paper)
- One 30-centimeter / 12” ruler
- One hand-held pencil sharpener removed from the package (with or without shavings holder)
- One large eraser (approx. 2" x 1", no pencil cap erasers)
- Six new, *unsharpened* pencils with erasers (removed from packing and use a rubber band to hold the pencils together).
One box of 24 crayons (only 24); standard colors

Get excited! This will be a fun and meaningful added experience at our Walk. Keep up the good work fundraising for CWS! See you on Sun., Oct. 8!

Just a reminder that Friends of CROP will receive a percentage of the profits from any purchases made between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. tonight at the Okemos Culver's, 5140 Times Square Dr - off Marsh Rd. between Aldi and Walmart . Take a break from cooking tonight and come support Friends of CROP.
