the Make Bozo Splash Routine was established on Wade shows in 1953 by Bill Griffin. at the time little 7-year-old Todd Griffin was out in front of the tank picking up his dad's balls -we use nets now. When Todd was 10, his dad saw him mouthing the jokes and called him out about it after work: "Dad! I look at the people - I know what jokes you are going to use..." The next day 10 year old Todd was
riding the chair! Flash forward 40 years: dad's gone; he's got no kids of his own; and the only person they taught the routine to drink himself to death in Texas! (Rest In Peace Jason)
Todd was on Facebook looking for that one unique individual to carry on his father's at he had ran a bad in the group I love dunk tank clowns: Seeking Protege...
NOW the last clown in California got shot around 20 years ago by the sheriff's son in Sacramento - who got away with it of course - and during the Civil Case the insurance company cited the criminal case and claimed that the clown had incited the shooting.. from inside of a steel cage! The insurance company was released from liability and the carnival owner had to pay out millions of dollars to the family for the wrongful death suit. This led to the Pacific Coast Show Owners Association(PCSA) banning all dunk tanks out right on the West Coast!! When I was 20 I used to airbrush swimsuits onto exotic dancers for gentlemen's clubs like deja vu and spearmint rhino. this led to me airbrushing at a bunch of the swinger parties in our industry and the rest is hopefully forgotten history...
At any rate I was able to negotiate, on provisional status, the return of the last of the back-end shows.
