For Ryan Nariño, has always been part of the story.

He grew up in it. Around it. Chasing it. And for years, the goal was clear—even as a teenager: the .

But getting there hasn’t been simple. Through circumstances often outside his control, Ryan had never "officially" finished a … until now. And when it finally happened, it wasn’t just another finish. It was the one that mattered most. At just 20 years old, after years of work, setbacks, and relentless commitment, Ryan crossed the line in San Luis, and everything changed.

The prize, thanks to Off-Piste Adventure, will bring Ryan $10,000 closer to the starting line at . From unfinished rallies to a defining finish. From chasing the dream to stepping directly toward it. Saudi Arabia is closer than ever. Well done, Ryan.

Six years.

That’s how long Jorge Cano has been carving his path toward Dakar.

Six years of showing up. Of learning. Of setbacks. Of coming back again.

At the , he arrived as the sole contender for the prize, but this was never going to be a formality. Alongside co-driver Abelardo Ruanova, Jorge pushed like everything was on the line...because it was.

Yes, it was a race of one. But it was never a guarantee. Mechanical issues. Navigation mistakes. One bad moment in the desert; that’s all it takes to lose everything. And Jorge didn’t want a gift.

He wanted to earn it.

Through the week, they fought for every mile. It wasn’t perfect—but rally never is. What mattered was the resilience. The determination. The refusal to back off.

A stage win. A strong overall finish. And proof—most importantly to themselves—that they belong. Now, after years of effort, sacrifice, and persistence… They’ve achieved a milestone that will bring them that much closer to the dream.

🏆 Road to Dakar winners: Jorge Cano & Abelardo Ruanova
