Rockin' the Park is an outdoor summer concert series that takes place in Centennial Park in Lancaster, NH. Started in 2017, it was originally hosted by Taproot Farm & Environmental Education Center. Following a year off for the pandemic, it started up again, run by a small group with the goal of featuring live music in Lancaster while bringing the community together. Local & regional bands from th
e North Country, New Hampshire, and New England are selected for the quality and diversity of their sound, and their professionalism. There is often a food vendor at each event, and 100-200+ people gathered in the park enjoying a musical evening together. Answers to FAQs:
• Concerts are free and open to the public.
• If the weather is bad, the Lancaster Town Hall is the backup location.
• Concerts start at 7:00 pm and run till 8:30. If there is a food vendor they usually start selling between 5:00 and 6:00.
• First concert is typically the 1st Friday in July.
• We prefer to feature full bands rather than solo artists or duos, as there are more places for smaller acts to perform. To put the "Rockin'" in Rockin' the Park, we look for bands that have a drummer, although we make exceptions.
• We try to not have the same bands play back to back years in order to bring fresh sounds to the community.
• Rockin' the Park has been funded by business sponsors and by local grantors and charitable organizations.
