As we reflect on this past weekend, we would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who came out! Whether you were a spectator, a vendor, dancer, or with a drum, you truly made this a wonderful weekend. Seeing everyone come together to share stories or teachings, find healing, laugh, or even make new friends reminds us why we do this every year. We do it to keep our culture alive, to feel the energy of the drums, to dance in the circle with family and friends. So again, thank you and we’ll see you all again down the powwow trail!

Every year we look forward to coming together to honor, celebrate, and teach our native traditions. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do that this year in the way we would like. Due to circumstances out of our control, this year’s Honoring Traditions Eastern Woodland Native American Celebration will be postponed to next year. We hope you understand this is not a decision the committee took lightly. There has been a lot of thought, consideration, and conversations that have gone into this decision. However, we are excited for next year and we hope to see you then! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you in 2025!

Tomorrow’s the day!! Come out to the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster this weekend to learn about Native American culture through traditional singing and dancing. We have talented artists selling their crafts, and for the kids there will be face painting and candy dances! And of course there will be frybread!

You can also expect to see our friend, Douglas Bluefeather, performing both days. He is an award winning Native American flute artist who brings an amazing talent and beautiful sound to our event every year.

It will be a warm weekend, but we hope it doesn’t stop you from coming out! We’ll be there rain or shine. Safe travels and see you soon!
