Personal Message From Bill Bone:

Thank you to all the members of our community who have shared their concern with me about the triathletes injured in last Sunday’s Olympic Distance Triathlon in West Palm Beach.

On behalf of the cycling and multisport community, we are all in shock about the incident which occurred during the race. As a triathlete myself, this was not something I imagined could happen and my thoughts and heart are with the two athletes and their families as they fight to recover. The Sherrif’s office is conducting an investigation, so it is not appropriate for us to speculate what happened at this stage.

I would like to thank the race staff, volunteers and emergency service personnel for everything they did on Sunday.

The triathlon community is made up of the strongest and most resilient people I know. I stand with the community, the athletes and their families.

For those who are moved to offer support, the family and friends of one of the athletes have started a GoFundMe to support her recovery.
