Nice, family friendly hike today. 1.1 miles in each direction. 3 kids in tow (13, 12 and 10), 35-40 minutes to the summit, 20-25 minutes down. View at the peak is worth the effort.

Baxter Mountain is a gem for the entire family. The summit of Baxter offers outstanding views as well as great blueberry picking in season. Welcome to the SGF Family Hiking page. We'd like this to be a place to post family friendly hikes that you've enjoyed or hope to do. We'd also like it to be a spot to arrange group hikes!

There are so many fantastic trails right outside our doors and beyond. We all know kids complain less when they've got friends along and are having fun! If you're planning a hike, please describe the level of difficulty so families can properly assess if they're comfortable to join. We hope this is a great way to introduce our kids to hiking and to enjoy ever more difficult hikes as they grow and learn to love hiking!
