Veterans Day was Originally Called Armistice Day. It was the day that WW 1 ended when the Germans capitulated to Allied demands. The Armistice Day holiday was officially recognized by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. Then it was observed throughout the world to honor those who brought about the end of the “Great War, as World War 1 was known back then. An armistice is a formal agreement between opposing sides in a war to cease fighting. In 1954 President Eisenhower renamed it Veterans Day to honor the people who served in WW 2 and Korea. So today it is still known as Veterans Day.

Our band shell at the amphitheater burned down. Thank god no one was hurt.

In addition to the structure, historic instruments and modern music equipment were lost in the fire. The amphitheater will be temporarily replaced by a mobile venue.
