This is the official page for New Student Experience (NSE) formerly known as NSO for BYU-Hawaii. The NSE team is here to plan fun events for new students to help them get acquainted with campus life. We encourage students already studying at BYU-Hawaii to get involved and volunteer at these events. NSE wouldn't work without our wonderful volunteers. Either as a new student or a volunteer, we hope to see you at Orientation!

Hōlōkāi Fair and Campus Connect for Spring 2026🌺💖

Our new students spent the day giving back through service, helping care for the land and beautify our campus community. One group worked alongside the Kumuwaiwai Center for Sustainability, clearing weeds along the fence line on the way to the temple to create a cleaner, more welcoming path. Another group lent a hand in the academic nursery, helping clean and restore the space.

It was a meaningful way to begin their journey here, serving others, caring for the land, and leaving a place better than they found it.

Mahalo to the Kumuwaiwai Center for Sustainability for allowing our students to learn, serve, and care for the ʻāina. Mahalo as well to our new students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to give back to the BYU–Hawaii community. 🌿🤍
