The RTH Stroke Foundation operates under the newly found statistic that 80 percent of all Strokes are preventable through lifestyle choices and knowledge of Stroke. We do whatever we can, by whatever resources available, to go out into the community and raise awareness, so we can remove Stroke from the totem pole of top killers in the U.S., and fulfill the last wishes of our founder, Roxanna Todd Hodges, to “Strike out Stroke Wherever You Can.”
Every year, the RTH Stroke Foundation hosts its annual fundraising event, entitled “Strikes Against Stroke.” This pivotal event enables the foundation to raise funds to provide free stroke education in the Orange County and Los Angeles County regions. This year’s 5th annual fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 5:30pm-10:00pm, at the Rio Hondo Event Center in Downey, California
This year, all event proceeds will benefit the "Diane Manarino Memorial Fund" to honor the RTH Stroke Foundation's late friend, Diane Manarino. Diane was just 59 years old when she suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. Diane was fit, trim and beautiful, she was an avid runner, and in great shape, but she ignored the challenge of managing her stress and high blood pressure. Diane lost her life to a senseless death that could have been prevented. It’s reported that 83,000,000 American’s have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, and that number continues to rise. Our mission is to reach out and educate everyone on the risks of this disease. With your help we are hopeful we can conduct future blood pressure clinics and offer medical support and advice to those that may not have access to health care. This night of magic and creativity will include dinner, raffles, and silent auction items. It will also include presentations on the Roxanna Todd Hodges Stroke Foundation and their programs. Accepting the award on her behalf will be her immediate family members. How can you help?
