Earlier this month, hundreds of fifth-grade students from El Morro Elementary and Top of the World Elementary got a special behind-the-scenes look at the magic of the Pageant of the Masters. ✨

Held across two days, the immersive experience introduced students to the many artistic and professional disciplines involved in bringing the Pageant’s iconic “living pictures” to life each summer, from scenic painting and sculpture to lighting, carpentry, engineering, costume construction, makeup artistry, communication, and stage production.

We hope the experience inspired the next generation of artists, makers, and creative minds. 🎨🖼️

♟️😏Your move, Laguna Beach.

This morning, several of our larger-than-life Pageant of the Masters re-creations of the Indian Chess Set featured in the 2025 production made their commute across Laguna Canyon Rd. 🤗 Traveling from the Festival of Arts grounds to City Hall the massive styrofoam sculptures took to the streets before being installed on the City Hall lawn, where they will stay on display through July 24, 2026!

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸

: The iconic Lincoln Memorial was officially dedicated and opened to the public on Memorial Day, May 30, 1922. This summer, the Pageant team is re-creating the Lincoln Memorial as part of the 2026 production, “Greatest of All Time.”

Pageant history through a volunteer’s eyes: 1960s–1970s! 📰✨

"Our participation in the Pageant was truly a family affair. Together we drove down to Laguna Beach, applied makeup, donned costumes and headpieces, and got into position on sets for our various pieces. It was great fun taking part in such a unique form of entertainment, and along the way we made great friends, enjoyed dramatic music, and learned a great deal about the world of art. The years of participation became firmly etched in my family's history.” - Long-time Pageant volunteer Greg Lima.

In honor of Earth Day, we’re celebrating nature as a medium 🌿.

Festival artists Troy Poeschl and Dylan Howard transform reclaimed wood and fallen trees into sculptural works that carry the stories of the materials’ past lives. From wood shaped by decades of growth to trees lost in the Eaton Fire, their work honors nature’s resilience, renewal, and evolution.
