The Bayou Boil Off is coming up quickly. If you plan on attending I recommend you buy your ticket ahead of time, it will save you some money. There will be plenty of crawfish, the cash bar will be stocked and there will also be plenty of vendors, live band and DJ. Currently 22 teams have signed up, and every one who pays to get in will get to vote on who they think is the best. No outside drinks are allowed. Directions how to pre order your tickets are on the flyer. Proceeds from this event are going to support multiple causes in the Lafitte area, to include the family of Marie Matherne, a Long time Lafitte resident and was always a friendly face at Tewelde’s who passed away recently.

The date has been set for the Rosethorne Ball 2027. The date is Jan 23 2027 at the Jean Lafitte Auditorium. The process will be the same this year as last. We will contact everyone who had a table last year will have an opportunity to purchase table again. Not everyone will get same table but we will do our best. Tables will be $200.00 and come with 10 entries. We will begin the table process in September. All tables that are not purchased will be open to the public afterwards. That date is not certain yet. We will also have Louisiana Landfall providing the entertainment.

Rosethorne parade will have our homegrown 689 Swampers and joining us this year The Metry Misfits. The Cajun navy will be featuring mulitple rescue vehicles and two special individuals will be appointed as honorary Jean Lafitte Police Officers.

The parade lineup is set and we will have 50+ entries with 21 floats. If you plan to come down to Lafitte and watch the parade, the road in will close around 11:30 am, and it will back up so best to get down here early.

If you submitted paperwork to be in the parade, the mandatory meeting is tonight at 7 pm at Lafitte Civic Center. Failure to have a representative will result in removal from parade.
