Recycled Percussion started at a high school talent show, and ever since then, they’ve been committed to supporting youth in the performing arts. Every Winter Tour, they partner with local dance studios to bring young performers on stage and showcase their talents. The performing arts are a powerful outlet for expression, confidence, and connection, and investing in young talent helps keep that creativity alive for generations to come. Over 100 dance studios have shared the stage with them in the last 4 years. This is a direct way to make an impact and we love to see it and be a part of it.

I was just standing on 44th and 6th waiting for the maceys day parade to start and I feel someone grab me from behind. My family and Ryan just surprised the s**t out of me in NYC! I thought I would be spending today alone and now I’m surrounded by my family! I haven’t seen them in 22 days so it was an emotional moment. I’m so lucky !!! What a surprise!

When a venue gets quiet… something starts stirring.

The Cake Theater has been so much more than a venue. Once a church, it’s become a place where laughter echoes, memories are made, and the walls quite literally sing. Over the years we’ve hosted hundreds of shows, given thousands of tickets to families and veterans, and even celebrated weddings, birthdays, and community milestones inside these walls.

As our fall season comes to a close and our Recycled Percussion family heads out on winter tour, the Cake takes a deep breath. The lights dim, the stage rests—but only for a moment. Because behind the scenes… we’re scheming.

This place deserves to stay alive, to keep the music playing, and to continue being a home for anyone who’s ever needed a spark of joy or belonging. Thank you for being part of what makes this theatre so special.
