I was reading messages today from families asking if there was any way they could get free tickets because bringing their kids to a show just isn’t in the budget right now, and that one hit me. When I was a kid, I used to volunteer just so I could see shows for free. I know what it feels like to want to be part of something and simply not have the money to do it. Now somehow, all these years later, I own a theatre, and I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to be on this side of it, I would remember the families who have to think twice before buying the tickets. We only have 10 Recycled Percussion shows left at The CAKE Theatre this year, and yes, I believe our tickets are incredibly fair for the level of show we put on that stage, but fair doesn’t always mean affordable for every family, especially when you’re buying tickets for 3, 4, or 5 people. So I want to give families a break. Because 20 years from now, your kids probably won’t remember what you bought them on some random Saturday, but they might remember the day you took them to that crazy show in Laconia where Dad got blasted with foam. They’ll remember laughing with you, getting candy before the show, meeting us backstage, and the drive home talking about their favorite part. That’s the stuff I think life is actually made of.

Our hearts are with Charlie’s family, friends, and everyone throughout the Lakes Region, the state, and the motorcycle community mourning the loss of this icon.

Charlie dedicated much of his life to Laconia. Through public service, local business, community involvement, and decades of leadership leading Laconia Motorcycle Week since 1991, Charlie has always been a pillar of our community.

Charlie was a familiar face and a constant presence downtown. His passion for Laconia, his willingness to serve, and the countless connections he made on the road will leave a lasting legacy.

Thank you, Charlie, for being a champion of motorcycling, our community, and every person you connected with! Your presence will be missed.

So special tonight.

Two of the most influential humans in my life both came to our show tonight. Mark Martin is not only one of the greatest nascar drivers of all time but has been my close friend for 16 years now. Eliot has been paramount in my career and a man that I can talk to anytime about anything. Both of these men have changed my life over the years and have been a large part of my success in their own way.
