🌟 Celebration of Lights - Design a Display Contest 2026!

🎄🎅 The City of La Salle was thrilled to host its first Celebration of Lights “Design a Display Contest!” The initiative invited school students throughout the area to design their very own Celebration of Lights display for a chance to have it featured during the 2026-2027 season.

🏆🥇 This year’s winner is Fifth-Grader Atlee Turigliatti of Dimmick. Turigliatti’s design features Santa Claus with a fishing pole. A custom builder responsible for many of the event’s displays will construct the new light fixture based on Turigliatti’s drawing. Turigliatti’s class also received a pizza party, courtesy of the City of La Salle, to congratulate him on the accomplishment.

✨ Additionally, we are excited to announce preparations for this year’s season, which marks 14 years of the iconic display. The Celebration of Lights will officially open on November 8, 2026, following La Salle’s second annual Frosty on First event on November 6 & 7. The Run, Run, Rudolph Fun Run/Walk will take place on November 7 as part of the event. Carriage rides and our new drive-through lighted tunnel will return this year.

Thank you for a great season!

This year’s Celebration of Lights was better than ever! We kicked off the 2025-2026 season with our brand-new Frosty on First winter event, held our annual 5K Fun Run/Walk, and continued horse-drawn carriage rides through the park.

We’d like to thank everyone for donating to the display this year; your support helps improve the event for future years. We’d also like to thank the volunteers who make this event possible each year.

We cannot wait to welcome you all back in November 2026!

We will be selling our brand-new 2025 ornaments THIS WEEKEND at the Celebration of Lights! Stop by on Friday, December 12, or Saturday, December 13, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm to pick up this year’s design. Ornaments are $10 each and will be available while supplies last, so make sure to get yours early! They will not be available at the main gate, but they will be available at one of our public works buildings near the end of the display.

The holiday season has arrived, and one of the largest Christmas celebrations in North Central Illinois is back! Visit La Salle’s Celebration of Lights at Rotary Park, 2837 E 5th Rd, La Salle, IL 61301. Open now through New Year’s Day!. You’re sure to feel the holiday spirit when you drive through our beautifully decorated park filled with festive light displays. Donations are taken at the gate to allow us to continue to operate the display in future years! Cash or Venmo accepted. Plus, don’t miss our horse-drawn carriage rides this year for an extra touch of seasonal charm!

Due to current weather conditions, the Celebration of Lights will be closed today, November 29. However, the park is most beautiful with a fresh blanket of snow! We’ll be open from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm tomorrow. Come experience the magic this holiday season!
