The City of La Joya Parks & Recreation Department is asking our community to come together in support of 17-month-old Kai Alarik Ramirez, the son of one of our very own Parks & Recreation coaches.

Sweet Kai has recently been diagnosed with Wilms tumor. He and his family will be traveling to Houston, where he will undergo surgery and receive the specialized treatment and continued care he needs.

During this difficult time, we want to surround one of our Parks & Rec families with as much love and support as possible. Any donation, no matter the amount, can help with travel, medical-related costs, and other expenses the family may face while focusing on Kai and his care.

Yesterday, our students had the opportunity to learn CPR and basic lifesaving skills through a hands-on training session! ❤️🫀 They practiced chest compressions, learned how to respond in an emergency, and gained confidence in helping others. A big thank you to our instructor for sharing such valuable knowledge with our youth! 👏
