We’re excited to share more about what’s coming to The Salt River Current.

Alongside a thoughtfully curated, music-forward stream, the station will feature short, recurring segments designed to keep our community informed and connected—highlighting local businesses, schools, organizations, and the people who make Bullitt County what it is.

You’ll hear:
• The Community Pulse – updates from around the county, including chamber news, school updates, and local business happenings

These segments are intentionally short, informative, and community-centered—created to complement the music while keeping listeners connected to local life.

The Salt River Current is being built as a steady, welcoming presence: music-forward, locally rooted, and shaped by the community it serves.

As 2025 comes to a close, we just want to say this out loud:

Wow. That was a year.

This year, From the Ground Up Books did a lot of growing. Some of it was planned. Some of it happened because people showed up and said, “Hey, what if we tried this?” and then actually helped make it happen.

In 2025, we:
• Served a whole lot of readers and writers
• Hosted events that felt more like hanging out than “programming”
• Expanded what this bookstore gets to be
• Kept old buildings busy and full of stories
• Learned a few things the hard way and survived anyway

Most importantly, we didn’t do any of it alone.

To our staff who juggle everything with care, our authors who trust us with their work, our vendors and partners who believe in the mission, and every customer who chose to shop local instead of clicking a button at midnight, thank you. You are the reason this place works.

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re planning a new space, new programs, more community-driven events, and a whole lot more “let’s see what happens if we try this.” We’re focused on growth that makes sense, creativity that stays human, and building something that lasts.

Thanks for sticking with us, cheering us on, and being part of this strange, wonderful little bookstore story.

Onward.
