UPDATE ON FAIR RACING BALLARD CO. The decision has been made by fair officials and Ky Horse Racing Comm. To postpone tomorrow’s races for two year olds to Sunday with the same post time. Three-year-old horses will still race Saturday at the same time. Noon CST. This change is due to weather conditions for tomorrow.

The Kentucky Proud Series of Fair Racing will have two racing events at the Ballard County Fairgrounds for 2026. The Ballard County Fair Races will be held May 22 and 23, starting at noon CST. Then on June 5 and 6, starting at noon CST, the Ballard County Fair Board will host the McCracken County Fair Races. Again this year an increase in the number of horses racing for both events is expected. Come out to the Fairgrounds and join us for two days each of harness horse racing. Admission is free and there will be plenty of good fair food at our concession stand.

It’s that time of year again when we all start preparing our gardens. For anyone needing compost there is plenty of “ horse” compost at the fairgrounds for the taking. Feel free to go and get all you need. We just ask that you please watch for horses in training when entering and exiting the fairgrounds.

Our Truck & Tractor Pulls that were postponed in July are happening TONIGHT—Friday, August 15th starting at 7 PM at the Ballard County Fairgrounds! Grab a seat in the bleachers, grab a snack at concessions, and get ready for a whole lot of horsepower. See y’all tonight! 🤠🔥
