🇰🇷🥁 Welcome the Korean Association to the 13th Knox Asian Festival! 🥁🇰🇷 As they bring the vibrant sounds and traditions of Korea

✨ Samulnori
Experience the energy and excitement of Samulnori, a dynamic Korean percussion performance rooted in traditional rural music. Meaning "playing four instruments," Samulnori features the kkwaenggwari (small gong), jing (large gong), janggu (hourglass drum), and buk (barrel drum). Together, these instruments represent the forces of nature—thunder, wind, rain, and clouds—creating powerful rhythms that tell stories of community, celebration, and cultural heritage.

✨ Jindo Drum Dance
Travel to the beautiful island of Jindo through this captivating folk drum dance. Performers wear a buk (barrel drum) strapped to their bodies while dancing and drumming in perfect harmony. With graceful movements, elegant rhythms, and expressive storytelling, the Jindo Drum Dance celebrates the spirit of community and the natural rhythms of Korean life.

Join us as we celebrate the rich cultural traditions of Korea through music, movement, and unforgettable performances!

* Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. On this Memorial Day, the Asian Culture Center of Tennessee expresses our deepest gratitude and respect to all who sacrificed for freedom and peace.

We also recognize and thank the many Asian American and Pacific Islander service members and families who have contributed to the strength and diversity of our nation.

May we come together as a community to reflect, remember, and appreciate the freedoms we share today.

With gratitude and respect,
Asian Culture Center of Tennessee 🇺🇸🕊️

🌷 "What is a Kids Market at the 13th Knox Asian Festival?" 💐

A Kids Market is a one-day, in-person event where children ages 5–17 run their own small businesses. Kids sell products or services they have created, interact with real customers, and experience what it is like to earn money through their own efforts.

The Asian Culture Center of TN believes experiences like this help children learn what it is like to run a small business and inspire them to learn even more in the future. 🍀
