๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 13th Knox Asian Festival is so proud to sponsor Yoshi Momokiโ€™s visit to Knoxville in 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

Eight years ago, Knox Asian Festival Director Kumi Alderman met Yoshi Momoki, just before he opened Goodore TN Bar. Yoshi visited Kumiโ€™s home and shared his dream of bringing the spirit of Tennessee and Japan together through his business.

Fast-forward eight yearsโ€”and that dream has grown into something truly special. โค๏ธ

Yoshi has created meaningful connections that make the friendship between Japan and Tennessee stronger than ever. His passion, friendship, and dedication to bringing people together are exactly what the Knox Asian Festival and Asian Culture Center of Tennessee are all about.

Yoshi, we are so proud of you! ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

We also want to give a very special THANK YOU to Angie Wilson at UTK. Angie was the person who brought the idea to Kumi of partnering with UTK and inviting Yoshi to Knoxville. That simple idea helped create an incredible opportunity for friendship, cultural exchange, and connection.

Thank you, Angie, for helping make this special visit possible! ๐Ÿ’•

Connecting people to people. Connecting Japan and Tennessee. Building friendships that last for generations.

Thank you so much Consul-General Shinji Watanabe to join us and celebrate with us for 35th Anniversary of Sister City relationship. It was a wonderful to hear how sister city create the stong freindship

On Sunday, August 30, the 13th Knox Asian Festival was held at Worldโ€™s Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between the City of Knoxville - Government and the City of Muroran (ๅฎค่˜ญๅธ‚ๅฝนๆ‰€), Hokkaido, so Mayor Takeshi Aoyama of Muroran and his delegation also took part in the festival.
In his remarks at the VIP reception, Consul-General Watanabe offered congratulations on the 35th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Knoxville and Muroran. He also noted that the many people-to-people exchanges over the years form the foundation of friendship between the two cities.
The festival featured stage performances and booths showcasing the cultures of various Asian countries and was bustling with many visitors. While Japanese companies and cultural organizations presented numerous aspects of Japanese culture, the Consulateโ€™s booth offered shakuhachi and ikebana demonstrations, as well as sake tastings.
