Knoxville inspires us to continue promoting and reinforcing positive actions that will help Knoxville be a growing, thriving community, and inviting to everyone who visits or passes through our great town.

In March, we presented $1,000 each to five local non-profit organizations who through their projects and services are making an impact on the residents of Marion County.

Now we are giving back to the community and the Knoxville pride shines through for everyone to see! Today, the large KNOXVILLE sign was installed on Pleasant Street welcoming everyone to Knoxville from the west. It is our hope that this will serve as an attraction where residents and visitors alike can have photos taken.

Thank you for choosing Knoxville!

A special thanks to WhiteClouds for all their help with the sign design, Blane Pearson for the electrical needs, and the City of Knoxville, IA Government Street Shop and Marion County Road Department for their help with the cement pad and moving the letters in place.

Congratulations again to our five local non-profit organizations who the community voted for to receive a $1,000 grant from the Knoxville RAGBRAI Executive Committee – Marion County Habitat for Humanity, Freedom for Youth, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Knoxville Alumni Association, and Heart of Transit. Today the Executive Committee presented a check to these organizations who through their projects and services are making an impact on the residents of Marion County.

As we are in the month of Thanksgiving and gratefulness, we reflect on our community and all we accomplished this past summer by bringing 20,000+ RAGBRAI riders and support teams through Knoxville. It was a massive undertaking, and we came together to showcase and represent Knoxville!
Our community inspires us to continue promoting and reinforcing positive actions that will help Knoxville be a growing, thriving community, and inviting to everyone who visits or passes through our great town.
We take pride in Knoxville and want to give back! In the spring of 2025, you will see a large KNOXVILLE sign installed on Pleasant Street welcoming everyone to Knoxville from the west. It will also serve as an attraction where residents and visitors alike can have photos taken. This is a nod to our rich history from when a similar Knoxville sign was located on the former VA campus. We want this to continue inspiring a sense of pride!
But we don’t stop there! We want to give back to you as well. From now through December 31, 2024, any local 501c3 organization is invited to apply for philanthropic support for their community betterment project. We will award five (5) $1,000 grants in early 2025. Here’s the fun part – the community will select who those five winning organizations are! There is a potential for severe weather in Knoxville this evening and we want you to be alert.

The weather service is tracking two potential storms.

The first has the potential for wind gusts up to 40mph and lightning. Anticipated to hit between 4pm-8pm

The second has the potential for lightning. Anticipated to hit between 2am-5am.

Please take proper precaution and educate yourself on where the shelter locations are around your campground.

Shuttles are available throughout town for ease of transportation. Take advantage of them and be sure to thank your volunteer shuttle drivers!!

Bicycle parking will also be available downtown in the festival area.

We have some great entertainment lined up today in Knoxville! Check out our local entertainment kicking the afternoon off at Peace Tree - Knoxville Taproom at 1pm. Beginning at 4:30pm we'll be on the main stage downtown!

T-Minus 1 day until riders are Racing Thru Knoxville! 🚴

You will begin to see some activity in the downtown area this afternoon and even more tomorrow morning at 6 am with street closures in preparation for riders coming our way.

Hundreds of volunteers have planned for this event over the past 7 months. Let's welcome these riders and have a great time tomorrow!
