I’m not very sure where to start this post other than, Thank You, to everyone that attended, sponsored, liked, and shared our Facebook posts. You made this event possible! The 1st Annual Practice Tree Showdown was a success! With over 200 entries throughout the event, we were able to handle it with as few hiccups as possible and put on a great race! We received some constructive criticism and will be making this race even better for next year! So be sure to mark your calendars when the new flier is released! So let's start with recapping this awesome night!
We started off eliminations with our Young Guns class. The final two racers were Tyler Barsema and Timothy Hearn, both Jr. Dragster drivers who already have an impressive resume and are a force to be reckoned with any racetrack they go to. In the final, it would be Tyler getting the win by a slim margin over Timothy, earning Tyler a big check, a winners cup, a winners hoodie, and a $250.00 payday from Mike Bos Chassis Craft
After that, we rolled into our Pro Tree class, a not common but nonetheless fun class at our practice tree race. The racing was hot and almost all of the rounds were decided by less than .005 here, but it was Alan Bush and Nate Kelley that would best the rest and decide the final! When the tree dropped for the final time, it would be Alan scoring the win with a slim .001 margin of victory! He also earned a big check, winners cup, winners hoodie, and $750.00 from MLM Promotions: for his efforts! Now this is where the Holden English dominance started
Beginning Bottom Bulb, there was tight racing everywhere. This class also consisted of the most reruns of the event, with 5! After a blood bath of racing there were two Goliaths that deserved to be in this final, Tom Klemme and Holden English. With $750.00 on the line from Jay's Auto Salvage Parts and Jen’s Western Beauty Boutique Holden started his run of wins with his first victory in Bottom Bulb. And his dominance didn’t stop there.
The Main Event action did not disappoint. Our semi-finals consisted of Nichole Medesis, Grant Zimmerman, and again, Holden English. With Grant sitting on the bye run to the finals, Nichole and Holden faced off for a shot in the finals. Holden pulled off a slim victory to face Grant, who had ran off of the bottom all night! The final would see Grant turning on the red light by .004 and Holden grabbing his second and biggest win of the night, taking home a $2,000 payday from Manhattan Collision Center and prizes along with an entry into the Triple Sevens Cordova race!
Thank you everyone again for all the support and we look to be a front runner in the next year’s practice tree events! We also may be in the works with other promoters to create a Practice Tree Points series, Stay tuned for more details on this! We will see you at the
