To our wonderful witchy community,
Thank you for gathering with us this past Sunday for our Autumn Equinox Mabon Festival at Kirkland Marina Park in Kirkland, WA. 🍎🍂
I tried to send this message out via direct email, but I ended up sending too many and must wait before I can send any more! 😅 I do hope this message finds you well!
Some of you may receive a few copies because you are a vendor or other reasons; please know I am merely trying to ensure everyone who needs to be on the mailing list is included.
Please unsubscribe if you no longer wish to hear from us.
We are so grateful for every person who came out to celebrate the season, connect with one another, and support the incredible local artists, readers, food vendors, and small businesses who bring our markets to life.
As our community continues to grow, so does our responsibility to protect the creativity and intention behind it.
We have heard the growing concerns around the use of AI-generated imagery, writing, logos, branding, and other creative work, and we share those concerns. We are currently strengthening our policies to create clearer boundaries around AI use within the PNW Witches’ Market. We also recognize that some small businesses may have used AI in the past for things like a logo or branding, even when everything they sell is created by human hands.
Rather than simply drawing a line, we want to help build a bridge. We are creating a resource list of human artists who can work with vendors on logos, branding, and other creative needs. If you are an artist who would like to be included, please reach out and let us know. It may take some time to help everyone transition, but supporting human creativity is worth the work. I will post a sign-up form on our website for artists soon.
We are also strengthening our policies around resale and sourced merchandise. We have heard concerns about items appearing in the market that were not handmade locally, and we want our curation process to be clearer and more intentional. While some thoughtfully selected resale and sourced items may still have a place in our markets, handmade and original work from our local witchy community will remain our priority.
We also recognize that certain types of vendors, such as our crystal vendors, cannot reasonably source all of their products locally. In those cases, our expectation is that the business itself is based in the Pacific Northwest and that sourcing is represented honestly and transparently.
Thank you for caring deeply about this space, for speaking up when something does not feel aligned, and for helping us continue shaping a market rooted in community, creativity, and integrity.
🕯️Next, we turn toward Samhain. 🕯️
Join us Sunday, October 25 at the Lynnwood Event Center as we gather once again to celebrate the turning of the Wheel, support local small businesses, and welcome the darker half of the year together.
We can’t wait to see you there. 🔮
Bright Blessings,
Danielle Weese
