Hello friends!

Andrew here from Chromatic Studios. Jocelyn and I have made the bittersweet decision to move on to the next chapter of our lives - we're selling the home that Chromatic Studios lives in, so we won't be hosting house concerts and art workshops here any longer.

Jocelyn will be continuing her book arts practice, including an exciting new series of upcoming workshops - follow her at Zephyrine Press (zephyrinepress.com).

I'll be taking some time to put together a new creative venture/partnership based on what we've learned hosting shows here for nearly four years.

The Kingston Jazz Jam is on a winter hiatus but will hopefully return - follow on Facebook for updates.

I want to thank each and every one of you who came out to a show, told a friend, recommended a musician - we had many many fantastic experiences here that I'll never forget!

Hello friends! I really hope you'll consider joining us this Saturday at Chromatic Studios for an evening with Dan & Claudia Zanes! Claudia is an amazing musician, singer, and storyteller, and Dan is a Grammy award winning songwriter and performer whose engaging tunes and gentle authenticity shaped a generation of music-fan parents and their kids. The talented Elena Moon Park will be joining them on violin, trumpet, and likely additional mirthful musical modalities.

If you've ever been interested in coming to a show here, now's your chance! It's a friendly, intimate venue with comfy chairs, easy parking, and free snacks (right across the street from Boice's Icecream). Kids 8 and over are welcome and will have a great time.

Shows here are free admission though we ask for donations, all of which go straight to the musicians.

Space is limited; you can reserve a seat and make an early donation here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dan-and-claudia-zanes-registration-1975212578995?aff=oddtdtcreator

Don't miss this rare chance to see these exceptional performers!

This Sunday among the autumn leaves (see what I did there?) it's the NOVEMBER Kingston Jazz Jam! Hosted by Claudia Forest and Andrew Waegel at Chromatic Studios, this is an open jam for players, singers and listeners.

Great house band as always - returning on keyboard is Megumi Kinosh*ta; joining us for the first time on bass is Robert Bard; and back for more on drums, multi- instrumentalist Jared Nelson.

Wanna play? Bring your axe/horn/etc., we'll have charts for you to read or share, and we ask a $5 donation for players. Saxes and other horn players especially welcome! If you're a singer, there's a mic waiting for you.

Wanna listen? Come on over, we'll have some snacks and beverages but you can bring your own, along with your knitting, crossword puzzles, or anything else you like to do while listening to live jazz. We ask a $10 donation for listeners, and if you can afford a few bucks extra that really helps - it all goes straight to the house band!

Two great shows coming up at studios!

This Saturday, Nov. 1, it's a sparkling and original good time with the John Burdick Trio / Stephen Clair.

Next Friday Nov. 7, a trio of legendary songwriters and performers called The Refugees from Nashville (and beyond!) join us for An Evening with The Refugees (Deborah Holland, Cidny Bullens, and Wendy Waldman). It'll be an evening of soaring harmonies, indelible musicianship, and unforgettably humorous stage presence!
